The last few Martial Moments have centered around the thought of  Peace In The Home.  I  will continue on this  important  topic  by once  again reminding  you of the text verse found in Philippians 4:7, "And  the peace of God,  which passeth  all understanding,  shall keep your  hearts and  minds through Christ Jesus".  Peace  is a promise of God, but you and I have to meet certain conditions if we are to enjoy that peace.  If you would have Peace In The Home then  you must  Learn To Be Content.  Notice Philippians 4:11, "Not that I speak in respect of want:  for I have learned,  in whatsoever state I am,  therewith to be content".  The word  "content" means  to be  self-sufficient.   However,  the word means  more  than  that for  the Christian.  The believer is not to be sufficient within himself.  His sufficiency  must be found in Christ.  Philippians 4:13 states that, "I can do all  things through  Christ which  strengtheneth  me ".  The  real  secret  of  contentment is  found  in  Christ. Having  Christ living  within our  hearts  is  our source  of contentment.  The word "content"  can  also mean  to  be  satisfied  with  one's  lot  in  life.  The  writer  of Philippians,  Paul,  is suggesting that  regardless of having much or little he  is con-tented  because  Christ  is with him  and  He helps  him.  Therefore, our  source of contentment is not found in things,  circumstances,  people,  money,  or  organiza-tions.  These  things  will let you  down  and  disappointment  you.  But Christ will neither disappointment  nor  fail you.  He has promise to  go with you always even unto the end  of the world.  Learning to be  satisfied in life  is  a valuable lesson.  It pays  huge dividends.  Be content with  the things  you have  in life.  Don't  always be trying to accumulate more and more things in life. Our Lord said in Luke 12:15, "Take  heed, and  beware of covetousness:  for a man's  life  consisteth  not  in the abundance of  the things which  he possesseth".   Dissatisfaction is a ploy of adver-tisers to get you  to spend  more and  more for things that you neither need nor can afford.  One  does not always  need the  latest  fads.  Dissatisfaction  leads  to debt and debt leads to bondage.  This in turn can put  pressure on the  families finances, on the home, and the marriage.   Another area in which we must be content is with each other.  You  should  never  compare  your  mate to  someone else.  You must never entertain the  thought  that  you  should  have  married  another  person.  Be content with  what you have.   Stop  criticizing each other.  Stop  fantasizing about someone  else. Stop the arguing,  fussing,  and  fighting.  Contentment in the home is  a goal worth  pursuing and  obtaining.  I Timothy 6:6 states, "But godliness with contentment is great gain".  It  is a  tremendous gain if you can have  peace in your home and  heart.  Remember,  if you would have  Peace In The Home  then  you must  Learn  To  Be  Content.
