In this section on "How To Have A Happy Home" I will be dealing with "Involvement In The Home". A Happy Home has Leadership, Involvement, Security, and Relationships. Ephesians 5:25-27 gives us the foundational truth for this lesson. Notice the Bible says, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it". Christ "gave" Himself for the Church. He became involved with the Church. He sacrificed for the Church. He reached out to the Church. He demonstrated His love by His involvement. His involve-ment had two awesome goals in mind: (1) to bring out the best in the Church, and (2) to prepare the Church for the future. Therefore, your involvement will Bring Out The Best In Your Home. Ephesians 5:26 states, "That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word". Christ was involved with the Church in order that He might bring out the best in it. Husbands and wives do better where there is active involvement with each other. They should always be helping each other, encouraging each other, talking to each other, and sharing with each other. The husband and wife should share the responsibilities of the home together. This involvement promotes harmony in the marriage. It makes the home enjoyable. It draws you closer to each other, and prevents loneliness, boredom, ill will, anger, and bitterness. Children without parental involvement tend to fail in their own lives. They get into trouble more often. They are poorly motivated. They make poor grades in school. They become school dropouts. They exhibit anti-social behavior and often become juvenile delinquents. Proverbs 29:15 states, "A child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame". Parental involvement enables the child to perform to a higher standard. Involvement shows your love. Your encouragement provokes them to bigger and better things. Your positive strokes, rather than negative ones, can make a tremendous difference in their lives. By your active involvement you can teach and train them to accomplish the right goals in life. Not only will involvement Bring Our The Best In Your Home, but it will also Prepare Your Home For The Future. Christ's involvement with the Church had one awesome goal in mind. In Ephesians 5:27 the Bible states, "That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish". Christ wants the Church to have a wonderful future. Children that have grown up in a home where parents involved themselves in their lives are better equipped to face tomorrow. They have been taught love and respect for others. They have been encouraged, motivated, disciplined, and blessed by the involvement of loving parents. And most important, the child has come to know the Lord by the spiritual training of Mom and Dad. The husband and wife have greatly benefited from their involve-ment with each other. When the children leave the nest they are not strangers. Their active involvement with each other down through the years pays great dividends in the senior days of their lives. They continue to enjoy each others company. They reap the benefits of companionship. They are generally better off health wise with each other. They are happier than other couples who have failed to spend time together down through the years. They tend to handle stress better with each other. And they continue to make plans, set goals, and achieve them where there is active and loving involvement in the marriage. Remember, if your home is going to be a Happy Home then you must have "Involvement In The Home".
